Wednesday Night Program
While Sunday school primarily engages the Biblical stories of our faith, on Wednesdays from September to May, children are engaged in the doing and living of the Christian faith.
Children’s Activities 6:15 – 7:30
Mission Friends: ages 3 – Kindergarten
Children in Action: grades 1st – 5th
It’s time to set sail for a new year of missions for children! Through the Anchors Aweigh! theme, kids and leaders will learn to take God’s love to all people.
Girls and boys will set aside things that weigh them down. They’ll pull up their anchors and sail full speed ahead!
Children will learn how missionaries use nautical and land-based ministries to share the good news. They’ll be challenged to participate in similar ministries in their communities.
Boys and girls will also learn to treat every individual as a person God created and loves. They’ll be encouraged to “navigate the course,” following missionaries’ examples.
Mission Friends and Children in Action – The “doing” of the Christian faith is taught beginning at a young age at HBC. Mission Friends and Children in Action is hands-on mission curriculum that incorporates the whole child. Children learn of mission work around the world, and particularly how children are involved. Children are then challenged in age-appropriate ways where they can be a witness for Christ in their home, school, and community. A children’s choir is included in this time.
