THE BOOK OF JAMES

The Book of James is a challenging book, and is so on several fronts.  It challenges believers to see their trials in a positive light.  It challenges them to resist materialism and greed.  It challenges them to pray with conviction and deep belief.  It challenges them to exercise discipline over their speech.  It challenges them to back up their believing with deeds of love.  In sum, it challenges believers to take up a greater devotion to the Lord and to his way.  Come join the pastor in studying this book and listening anew to the Spirit’s call to vital and sincere faith as we worship together in August.

The first church building, constructed at the present location, opened in 1895. The interior consisted of a sanctuary and three small classrooms. At various times, as the church grew, more facilities were added. As the community of Haymarket has experienced tremendous growth the past several years, the church is currently making plans for the expansion of both its sanctuary building and its ministry programming.
